Sanson is one of Spain´s best known and well-loved aromatized dessert wines; made according to a secret recipe handed down through the generations. Sanson is perfect on its own but also versatile enough to create new and exciting mixed drinks. Its sweet taste and rich aromas make it the perfect ingredient for adding a touch of magic to your desserts, cakes and sauces. Here are some new ideas for serving and enjoying Sanson.
Served in a tasting/sherry glass at room temperature or lightly chilled, Sanson makes a perfect aperitif or after dinner drink.
Sanson on the rocks
In a brandy balloon glass, served over ice cubes with a piece of lemon peel, Sanson makes a relaxing drink to enjoy at your leisure.
Served in a shot glass with grappa or vodka, Sanson makes a great post dinner digestif.
Make a sophisticated and refreshing cocktail with Sanson, rum, crushed ice, cola and twist of lemon peel in a Martini glass.
Sanson BBQ Sauce
- 1 cup of Sanson
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- Finely chopped garlic
- A pinch of cumin
- A pinch of chipotle chili powder
- Thyme, rosemary
In a medium saucepan, add olive oil, garlic, chipotle powder, and cumin.
Simmer, stirring for 5 minutes then add the Sanson.
Continue to simmer for 2-3 minutes. Add in soy sauce, vinegar, thyme and rosemary. Simmer for two minutes more.
Remove from heat; allow to cool slightly before using.
Brush over chops or steaks before grilling.
Sanson Beef Stew
In this recipe Sansón adds a richness and depth of flavor to the meaty sauce.
1 1/2 lb. of stewing beef
1 tbsp. olive oil
1 chopped onion
1 clove of garlic (minced)
1 can chopped tomato
1/4 c. water
1 Cup of Sanson
½ tsp pepper
1/4 tsp. basil
1/4 tsp. thyme
1 c. or more of each sliced carrot, chopped celery, and cubed potato
Brown beef in olive oil. Add garlic and onion. Sauté until transparent. Add herbs, and stir in tomato, Sanson and water. Cover and simmer for about 30 minutes. Add diced vegetables. Cover and simmer for about 1 1/2 hours or until tender. Stir often. Add more water if necessary
